reo Customer: Trox Technik Air Conditioners “Nothing to See”


I know what you’re thinking, designers. “A blog post about HVAC—move along, nothing to see here.” Heating and air conditioning are necessary evils and, generally, ugly. At best, someone grows a bush in front of the unit and that’s the last you have to look at it.
Creo customer Trox Technik knows just what you mean. The 50-year-old global company specializes in air conditioning and ventilation for finer architecture. You can find Trox systems in a concert hall in Athens, a modern theater in the Czech Republic, a hotel bar in Germany, an airport in Madrid.
But you’d have to strain a bit to see them. “Our designs are as invisible as possible in each building,” says Trox. “Maximum comfort with efficient use of energy is our contribution to [the architect’s] vision.”
 While Trox prides itself on its ability to blend in, it does try to stand out when it comes to technology.  That technology and Creo’s direct modeling approach is just what Allison and Vince are here to talk about in this episode of The Product Design Show:
