Creo Customer: Pland Puts Panache In Men’s Room

As long as you’re flushing water down the drain, why not do it with some panache?  That’s what one Creo customer asked as it designed a new urinal for a men’s room in a high end restaurant. Pland Stainless, a UK manufacturer that specializes in fittings for commercial and home use, created a fixture that releases water over a textured surface before rinsing away waste, thus creating a waterfall effect.
That’s just one of many designs by stainless steel specialists at Pland. Its catalog includes dozens and dozens of sinks, stools, tables, and other fixtures. With stainless steel, you get economy, durability, and easy maintenance. But you can also get an unmistakably contemporary look. Pland stainless, which has quadrupled its product offerings in the past 10 years, says one key to its success is its “time served craftsmen” who have been designing and building stainless steel works since 1919.
More recently, Pland Stainless added “modern in house CAD facilities.” Those CAD facilities include direct modeling from Creo and its sheet metal capabilities, so it’s easier to create and manage all the new offerings in the catalog, as well as custom jobs.
Play this episode of The Product Design Show, as Vince and Allison show you how Pland Stainless engineers turned a sensible urinal into a chic stainless steel waterfall.
